So what do I mean, when I say... ...NEO-PAGANISM?
There's a lot of misconceptions about what being 'Neo-Pagan' means. Some seem to think that it's just 'another new-age fad', popular with hippies and bored housewifes (or feminists)...

...or a cover for all sorts of 'Satanic' acts.
In truth, it's a revival, recreation and amalgam of traditional European and Eurasian beliefs and practices... ...one that encompasses many Pantheons.Like amny such 'revivals', it re-interprates and also re-invents the thing revived... ...so what *are* the basic or core beliefs (for me at least)?

Firstly, it is a way of looking at nature, and ourselves as being part of that nature (not seperate from it). It's a recognition that the divine, like human nature, is plural, not singular. Masculine (The God) and Feminine (The Goddess) are the two main aspects of the divine... ...with The Goddess being the 'senior' aspect. It is a recognitionof patterns and cycles. I celebrate these using ritual and festivals.
Being Pagan can also involve spells and magic. But these are forms of prayer and manifesting changes.Neo-Paganism is about 'power-within' (self-realisation)... ...not about 'power-over', which is merely another form of oppression.
Because of all these factors, neo-paganism is also political; feminist; pro-nature and anti-hierarchial. But all this depends on the individual. This is *my* way of being pagan, of defining my moral choices. There are other ways of being pagan, but this is *my* way. Brightest Blessings.
